While cleaning out my office a while back, I re-discovered a Shrinky Dink I made of a conjoined twin skeleton. Inspiration struck and I painted some panels and made more Shrinky Dinks to accompany the skeleton, then life got in the way of crafting and the bits sat on my desk. I decided today's Snow Day task would be to finish these Creepy Panels. The finished product! The bases of these unique wall hangings are Tim Holtz Burlap Panels with a layer of black acrylic paint. I used the same black paint to dry brush the fronts of  Tim Holtz Vignette Panels and painted their sides solid black. While paint dried, I broke out my Shrink Dink paper and traced out old anatomical drawings of skulls, bones, and even a spider using a black Sharpie marker. I cut them out and baked them to make cool tiles. I've finally completed "Harvest Time," my altered Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Assemblage Clock. This piece was quite the labor of love and when I was just to the end, I tore it apart. You can see where I left off here . Looking at the clock, it was nice, but it needed something behind it and the layer of bones below seemed hollow and lonely. I decided to make a tree. First, I used a Tim Holtz tree wooden block stamp that I think may be discontinued. The shape of the tree was what I wanted but cutting it out onto paper it didn't look so hot. I decided to make my own and got some Aves Apoxie clay and used the stamp as a guide. When it was done, I added texture by running a metal pick over the trunk and branches. Well, that 31 Tags of Halloween really wiped me out but I'm hoping to get back to a more regular blogging schedule.  Today's post is my work in progress, "Harvest Time." It is a Tim Holtz Assemblage Clock that I've spent waaaay too much time on. It started with the clock on sale at the local craft store. I had a vague idea what I wanted to make and even did a sketch one day when I was home sick with GERD. My first step was to color the Tim Holtz Ancestors paper doll with some Distress Markers. I edged in Black Soot and colored the back black as well. I made several attempts at backgrounds with Adirondack Alcohol Inks and finally settled on a purple-toned sky made by combining Pitch Black with Ranger Blending Solution. You know how I always have something hinky happen with my crafting plans? Well, this past weekend we took a little trip to Michigan and I packed up my crafting supplies with ideas of tags filling my head.We had a break from adventuring so I decided to make a quick tag...but forgot my scissors at home. All of my tag ideas required scissors and I didn't want to buy a pair because I have way too many pairs to begin with so I made the decision to stop fussing and just make three tags today. Tag 21 My first tag uses almost all Tim Holtz items except for the delightfully grungy tinsel garland. I assembled a tag, a piece of Halloween paper stash with handwriting on it, Distress Ink in Walnut Stain,  the skeleton Halloween ephemera, and Typography.
